MERCANTA

www.mercanta.com Egamaster can supply non sparking tools of COPPER BERYLLIUM (CU-BE), ALUMINIUM BRONZE (AL-BRON) and ACETILEX material. Characteristics of each material you will find in the table below. EGA Master non-sparking tools are certified by the prestigious German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), which is a European Union approved laboratory to certify according to 94/9/EG Directive (Atex). COPPER BERYLLIUM (CU-BE) ALUMINIUM BRONCE (AL-BRON) ACETILEX Three Material Composition Categories of Non-Sparking Tools Material Properties • Harder and with higher tensile strength than Aluminium Bronze • Non ferrous substance in the composition makes it safer when nonmagnetic applications are required • Most economical Non-sparking tools • Minimum ferrous component makes them not 100 % non- magnetic, although its low magnetism make it appropriate for non-critical applications • For Acethylene environments, where products with more than 65 % of copper should not be used due to the dangerous chemical reaction it may create, (therefore, neither Cu. Be nor Al. Bron) • Non ferrous substance in the composition makes it safer when nonmagnetic applications are required. Application Fields • Medical Applications • Mining Industries • Oil & Gas Industry • Paint Manufacturing • Pharmaceutical Industry • Petrochemicals • Power Stations • Breweries • Fire-fighters • Defence Industry • Weapons & Ammunition • Aerospace Industry • Automotive • Chemical Manufacturing • Explosive Industry • Hospitals • Laboratories • Acethylene environments Composition Be 1.8 - 2 % Ni+Co 0.2 - 1.2 % Others > 0.5 % Rest Cu Al 10 - 12 % Ni 4 - 6 % Fe+Mn > 5.8 % Others > 0.5 % Rest Cu Cu > 65 % Hardness 35 - 40 HRC (310 - 360 Brinell) 25 - 30 HRC (229 - 291 Brinell) 25 HRC (229 Brinell) Durability Much higher from increased hard- ness and tensile strength Not as much as Cu-Be Maximum durability that provides 100 % safety Tensile Strength 1250 N/mm2 800 N/mm2 686 - 958 N/mm2 Price Increased specialised materials contributes to a higher price More economical, around 30 % lower cost Only 100 % safe alternative, so price not comparable 295
